Hey all, I'm a pre-dent and I just ran across the American Student Dental Association recently from some material a dental student gave me and I'm thinking about going through the whole process of membership and establishing the pre-dental club at my school as a recognized chapter. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of detail regarding perks of membership besides recieving newsletters. What are the perks? Is anybody here a member? Is it worthwhile to join? Any thoughts appreciated thanks!

VCU pays for your ASDA membership with your fees so we are all members. The big benifit of ASDA is the representation of Dental students in decisions that effect them on a national level. For example, Boards Part II might goto a mannequin(sp?) type exam instead of using real people. This helps because there should be more testing centers, dummies always show up for the boards, they ALWAYS have ideal cavities, you don't have to pay them to work on them, you don't have to buy them airplane tickets to bring them to the boards, you get the idea. There is also some life insurance for free and credit cards and car rental help and ....... other stuff. Oh ya, you get JADA and some other magazine. For more goto:www.asdanet.org. Later
