"Amazon 'poaches' 20 jobs from CVS, Express Scripts, UnitedHealth"
Amazon 'poaches' 20 jobs from CVS, Express Scripts, UnitedHealth: 6 things to know

It looks like Logistic/PBM will be the main focus for healthcare arena for Amazon.
I have posted previously that my hospital system was engaged with discussion on potential partnership. Amazon team has expressed interested knowing more on health system contracts/GPO/logistic relationships.

Now with the news on recruitment, it looks like they are interested in health delivery in horizontal trend. From point of purchasing, charging, reimbursement, to point of product/service deliveries like home delivery or mail order by Prime.

With aggressive hiring of these personnel, their strategic timeline is likely be pushing some components out in 2-3 years time span and overall plan in 5 years.

Remember the management style and not every product launch by Amazon was successful. People who suffer in retail should not jump ship to Amazon the first chance they get. It likely will be run more efficiently than typical retail and more like mail order facilities with LEAN process.

Amazon will become the largest PBM and they will open up pharmacys in all Whole Foods where patients can order their drugs online and pick them up at the pharmacies. Also 2025 Amazon over takes CVS for the most prescriptions dispensed. 2030 Amazon.com opens it's first E-hospital with robots that draw blood.
