just wondering if anybody has gotten into GW already? That has been my only interview and wondering if they are sending those nice fat letters in the mail yet.

i think they said to wait for 10 weeks.. i am guessing it wont take that long. but i dont know any one who already got their accceptance letter..

I interviewed on 9/20 at GW. They told me 8-10 weeks. This past week, (my 4 weeks mark) I received a letter saying that the preliminary AMCAS they had received did not state my UGrad. They asked me to send or fax whatever page it was from my application. I have since been verified, so I called and asked them if they'd like a verified application for their records. They said sure and that a decision would arrive within a few weeks.

hey gettin' same thing here. i interviewed on 9/20 wiht dr. kermit and they said 8-10 weeks, and i haven't heard a word either way, rejection, waiting list, or acceptance. i have only been on one interview since, USA, and am hoping i will get a couple more interviews...

I got good news this Saturday from GW

It was an 8.5X11 envelope, which included an acceptance letter, and an acceptance contract (X2 copies)to be signed and returned

What were your stats and how did your interview go? I hear that GWU is very kind to those they waitlist and that they accept a huge number of the waitlist, so it is not necessarily a bad thing.

my stats are 3.93 gpa and 31T on the MCATS. My interviews seemed to go well...I didn't do amazing, but nothing really went wrong. I've heard the same thing about their waitlist.

I interviewed on 9/25. I'm happy to say, my notification of a waitlist at GW was followed a week later by an acceptance to Pritzker!!!

Kermit, I am in your exact shoes. I interviewed the same day (but have no idea who you are!) and have not heard anything. I am in So Cal; maybe mail issues would effect deliveries way out here. I read an article yesterday that said a lot of D.C. mail is being rerouted through Ohio or somewhere equally middle America. Let us know when you hear anything.

I interviewed the 20th too. I'm from Miami. I wish I knew the people on this thread posting. I think I know southern cali guy. I havn't heard sh;t either. Hopefully it's just anthrax delays. I was thinking about calling GW and asking them on my status considering the locality and the mailing system in the area. Maybe they could tell me some good news over the phone instead of the mail.

I wrote a while ago that I interviewed on 9/20. About a month ago, GW requested a specific page of my AMCAS and when I called and told them I had been recently verified, they requested my entire app. Just last week (11/1), I called and Darrell told me that there was an extreme backlog with the mail going into and out of GW even though they didn't use the Brentwood facility. He told me he did not have my app so I would need to fax it to them to have a decision before Thanksgiving. Hope this helps!

I got put on their alternate list today. I'm not disappointed but I wanted to get in already. Hopefully I'll hear some really good news from them in a couple of weeks. Just gonna have to wait and see.

What exactly does the "alternate list" mean? Is this a waitlist, where movement won't occur until May? Or will one's application be looked at continuously?

I got the waitlist today - from what I understand, it gets heavy movement in June.

I am confused, is their an alternate list and then a separate waitlist or are they one and the same? (For GW that is)
