Any ideas or hints on inexpensive ways for moving to a different State? I am moving to Peoria, IL to start my Emergency Med residency at Univ of Il.

    THE WAY YOU DRIVE? hehhehhehhehheh
either a small trailer or a Ryder truck all the way baby, get the smallest one (10 footer) you can find, give away your personal belongings and hit the road.
stay away from Uhaul...I just dont trust them....Is there a moving allowance? or are you saving it for something else?
dont eat fried chicken at truck stops and dont talk to anyone with a piece of hay sticking outta their mouth stay away from hitchhikers and dont talk to the girl at the end of the hotel bar. avoid vegas like the plague but see the grand canyon.

I am moving to MI (Michigan State Univ) from CA. I found that Penske has cheaper rates. Check it out. Best of luck in your residency!
