hey, just a quick question for anybody who knows...say i wanted to do a postbacc program, but one of the requirements is that i must have been previously REJECTED from at least 1 medical school....which one would i apply to (AT THIS POINT), which would hand me the one and only rejection letter i will be happy to receive as soon as possible??????

basically, what school can i apply to...so that i can "officially" say I applied and didn't get in? And it has to be a school that can hand me a rejection letter ASAP! :D

Apply early decision anywhere and they have to let you know by Oct 15th (?)...

but you should look into this carefully, b/c anything foolish you do now could haunt you later on.

What do u mean Foxy? Is applying to be purposely rejected foolish? Or would it be the possible carelessness of the application that could haunt me??

I don't know, but it reminds me of taking the mcat cold w/o realizing it could screw you later on----I just think you should talk to an advisor about it. For example, when you apply to med schools for real, they could ask you if you have ever applied before, and then they will ask why you were rejected, etc......if yuo say you were rejected b/c you wanted to be, it would be funny. <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

yes, it could definitely haunt you!! some schools limit the number of times you can apply, so by purposefully shooting for a rejection the first time around, you're essentially 'wasting' a chance to get into that school.

also, if i understand your post correctly, you are trying to apply somewhere NOW during the 2001-2002 app cycle so that you can enroll in a post-bacc as soon as possible. that isn't going to work because secondary deadlines for individual med schools passed months ago, around jan 1st or so.

As my BMX idol Matt Hoffman says; Go big or go home. Shoot for an Ivy league like Harvard or Yale. If that soesn't work out I have plenty of reject letters, I can part with one or two. Peace.
