Hi friends,can any one please tell me the procedure to extend my vising visa to USA or to change my status of vising visa to any other visa like student or something else,currently i came to New jersey to visit my brother for 3 months iam approaching my deadline in 3 weeks,so i want to extend my visa ,iam an indian citizen(planning to give my NBDE part 1 in my visit on computer based).
i would be thankful for your replies.

um...not sure on this one...but I know some people leave the country for a week or so (as in a holiday to mexico), then come back on a new visiting visa.

A couple of years ago, you could just cross one of the borders, usually Canadian, get the new visa and return but this is now very risky; several non-resident aliens have been deported. It's better for you to get the new visa in your country of legal citizenship. You should call your local BCIS office in NJ for advice (http://uscis.gov/graphics/index.htm). They are quite helpful.
