Starting a volunteer position in outpatient surgery. Just wondering if anyone else has done this and what they usually have you do. Thanks.

In my position, I was able to transport patients to/from recovery to other areas in the hospital or down into the waiting area. i was also able to observe patients treatment in PACU (post-anesthesia care unit) and also connect/disconnect them from the wall (o2, iv lines, etc).

Also, we got to talk to them :p

Yeah pretty much what this guy said. People look like **** when they wake up from the anesthesia.

You have to be CPR Certified to transport patients by yourself.
