Do you guys think you get any props for knowing spanish or being a spanish major (specifically in cities where this could be advantageous)? Just thought it would be preferential, but who knows ... anybody hear any adcom talk about that?

W Chicago, polske moze byc barzo potrzebny dlatego bo tutaj mamy naj wielki zbior polski ludzie w americe. Y tambien tenemos muchas personas espanoles. So I feel knowing these two languages can help. Tak myslem, tak? Piensas que si?:p

Spanish is a definite plus. Translators are always needed on rounds. If you are fluent in Spanish, by all means, advertise it.

OK... well.. since I don't speak Spanish I have no idea what anyone has been saying on this string since the first post, but I can tell you that NYU, in particular, says they consider Spanish as a definate plus; in general, any metropolitan-area med. school will know that it is advantageous for a doctor (particularly a PCP) to...how you say... habla espanol... ;)

Ohh dip..my kinda thread..now were talking..

I think knowing a foriegn language is always an asset, and hello half of the US speaks spanish, so I don't see how it could hurt!!!
