starting ophtho in July. Feels like during intern year I have forgotten the little I did know about ophtho.

Any recs for things to do/brush up on before starting? Or just deal with it when the time comes?

Learning ophtho intern year vs PGY2 is like trying to learn Spanish from a textbook in your free time vs living in Spain for a year. In my experience, the bar is set pretty low for those first few weeks and the learning curve is steep no matter how much you study beforehand. At the same time, anything you work to understand now is one less thing you have to work on later.

I'd guess that studying anatomy (in and around the eye), learning how to describe exam findings, and memorizing the acronyms would be pretty high yield as you're getting ready to start.

Practical ophthalmology has some solid info for basic exam stuff. Otherwise, enjoy yourself and prepare to learn.
