i have applied and interviewed at both UF and UNC, near you. as for UF, they stress that the only reason to go there is if you want to practice in Florida. they have decent facilities, including one large (11 story) dental building. it's a little odd, as there are no windows. they are currently in the process of remodeling it, as it was built sometime in the 70's. they do have state of the art preclinical facilities and some new clinical facilities as well. the faculty seemed very amiable. as for their reputation, i would guess that they would be considered an average to slightly above average school. it wouldnt be a bad place at all to spend 4 years.
