What did it say, gd? You can't leave us hanging!
I was hesitant to post it, because it sounded so blatantly "we're so happy you are a minority" that even I felt a little dirty after reading it. But, I still don't know what to make of it. I highlighted some sentences that give me hope. Then I think "I have been complete since October. there is no hope." Just when I thought I was out....

We thank you for submitting your AMCAS application materials to Rush
Medical College. This message is the first of many contacts we plan to
make as you move through the application process. Should you have any
questions about the process please contact us at
[email protected]. From the application materials you have
already seen the names of Ms. Jan Schmidt, Director of Admissions and Ms.
Jill Porter, Director of Recruitment and Special Programs. Together,
they are coordinating all admissions efforts for the coming year and are
excellent sources of information.
They will be working with you
throughout the admissions process.
Your AMCAS application shows that you are a member of a population that
is underrepresented in Medicine. Given this, it is my pleasure to
introduce you to another member of our staff, Sharon Gates. Ms. Gates is
the Director of the Rush Community Service Initiatives Program and she
also serves the medical college as the Multicultural Affairs Director.
In this role she is actively involved with all students, applicants,
alumni, the Affirmative Action committee and of course, the Admissions
Committee. Rush Medical College is lucky that she is an exceptional,
energetic, caring individual who works tirelessly on behalf of diversity
needs. We are all committed to our diversity mission for the medical
college which will begin to provide physicians for the needs of our
entire patient population.
Ms. Gates will be contacting you in the future
to assist you in any way she can as you move ahead with your plans.
