hey all...

haven't posted in a while, but thought i would today. So recently (few weeks back) i got an email from temple saying that my file was complete and stuff.

then today (3/15) i get this funky letter (snail mail) about their LCME accreditation. Kinda random in my opinion.

What does this all mean? Does this go to everyone who's going to be rejected also...or to people who'll be gettin interviews?

i think it went out to everyone. i got mine like 2 weeks ago but no word on an interview. i have no idea why you got yours much later.

same here.....i got that accrediation letter a few weeks ago and still no word on an interview or anything.......

They're supposedly interviewing into May (inviting into April). I'm still waiting on them too - nary a word....🙁

I am waiting too...I have received a couple random emails from them saying my file is complete and it has been complete since September but still no word on an interview -- When they call "I am still being reviewed". I got the accred. letter also. I would bet that I a lot of people are going to bail from Temple b/c of that and that they will be interviewing for spots for awhile.

Temple is required to send that letter to all applicants, hence your receiving it.

There are other threads explaining the situation in more detail, and it is by no means a reason to "bail on temple". Temple has not lost its accredidation and if anything this is completely to the student's benefit.

I still have not heard anything pre-interview from Temple yet. I was complete in October.

I still haven't heard anything yet either 😕 Has anyone heard anything from Temple lately? I guess theoretically anything can still happen at Temple - but it's not looking good at this point. It's a shame too, 'cause I really liked them and would have loved to have had a shot at getting in...

I had pretty much given up on Temple, but got an interview letter very recently. They were scheduling interviews for the following week--i.e. no delay, so it may not be too late to receive intervews from them. The actual intervew was sort of cursory.. they scheduled half hour slots for each person, with no admissions staff presentation except financial aid, so I got the impression they weren't investing a lot in us. I don't know if it was the same way for earlier interviewees. In fact.. I'd be curious to know if earlier people got more love.

I interviewed there in January. There was a brief presentation by the financial aid officer, a tour by medical students, lunch with med students, and the half hour interview. Overall, much less organized than any other school at which I've interviewed. I was accepted in February, but have declined the offer. Temple's a good place with a diverse and great student body, but Philadelphia (especially that part of town) just didn't feel like the best fit for me, and their residency placement was less attractive in comparison to other schools that I am considering, although placement was generally good. Good luck to all of those still waiting, I'm sure you'll enjoy Temple.
