Hey everyone,

I applied through AB back in November, but have not heard anything from any of the schools that I applied to (UCD, UCC, and Trinity). Is there anyone in the same position? Also, does anyone with previous experience know what (if any) significance the order of letters sent out has (i.e. not recieved anything by end of March=rejection)?

Thanks a bunch,
Mazda

I'm in the same position as you Mazda....I applied way back in October..Haven't heard anything yet.

Best of luck in the future!

hi!

i applied to ucd, trinity, and rcsi in late january and got rejection letter from trinity and rcsi so far..both those rejections letters came on the same day about 2 weeks ago. maybe its a sign i still have a shot at ucd? =) best of luck!

Hey all,

From what i can tell, no news from the schools is good news. I think the Irish schools send out a first round of acceptances at the beginning of March. The applicants that are accepted first round are usually those with the most competitive stats and therefore also those with the greatest chance of acceptance to a NA school. For this reason i imagine the waitlist turnover is large for these schools. No news most likely translates into a position on the waitlist and therefore maybe only an offer of acceptance later in the summer. The Irish schools keep their options open by keeping all potential candidates on the waitlist.....smart, but stressfull. Anyway, that's all just from my head so i could be way off....GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks for all the replies, its nice to know others are in the same boat. I'll post as soon as I receive anything. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

This wait is killing me! I would almost rather a rejection letter than nothing so I could at least plan my life in a different direction.
Maybe now that deadlines for first round have come and gone, second rounds will come soon?

Hey Cansnowflake, I don't think it is so much the end of first rounds of the Irish schools that is important but those of NA schools. Once these come out all those who are holding Ireland as a "backup" will either withdraw their acceptance or not depending on if they were accepted at home. I am waiting to hear from Queen's and McGill and if either take me there will be one more seat available at UCD!! Do you mind if i ask your stats just out of curiosity?? Anyway....there's my two cents. Good luck

Thanks for the response Jamesmtl, I agree that a big turnaround will come mid to end of May (but that still seems so far away). For my stats, I have a 3.6 but no mcat so I only applied to UCD and Trinity. I am in my 4th year of a biophysics degree with lots of reseach and volunteering experience. In retrospect I should have written the MCAT and widened my chances, but it just didn't fit in. My other option is graduate school, which I am also enthusiastic about

I suppose it will be another few months wait...
