I was wondering if anyone's applied this year, and if so, what your stats are and if you've been rejected/accepted/waitlisted...

Thanks!

Ouch. Well, good luck! With your stats I'm sure you'll get in somewhere!

What is Wake Forest smoking this year? 35 and a 3.6 and not even a secondary? I didn't get one either, but that's more understandable. Why are they being so rough on OOSers this year?

I have pretty high #s w/ decent ECs... & have an interview @ WF. WF secondary was awesome, easiest by far. But I see that it's quite hard to get a secondary in the first place. 😀 I didn't bother applying to NC or Duke for some reason. I wasn't feeling them.

Sorry about that rubber, very good chance that they didn't like your personal statement or ECs...

OOS, 37, 3.9

Interview at Wake- waiting to hear their decision

Still waiting for a UNC secondary...

What is going with UNC? I've gotten two preliminary info emails from them.

Don't feel too bad. My stats are higher than yours, and my MCAT is above 40, I still got rejected pre-sec from Wake Forest. My EC's are amazing and almost every one of my open-file interviewers remarked on my "thoughtful" personal statement. I didn't actually know about it till yesterday when I checked my email folder of correspondences from med schools... I never read the email, and just assumed that the attached PDF in their email was a secondary, which I never bothered to fill out because I wasn't too interested in the school (just ticked it off in AMCAS on a whim) -- the PDF was in fact a poorly-worded rejection letter. I got into higher ranked schools anyway, and who wants to go to school in a forest  cheer up, buddy.

anon, they knew you were going to go to a better school so that's prolly why they rejected you.

what school is your first choice? and where did you get accepted thus far?

Not just OOs who feel WFU's wrath. The admissions people there are wackos with an inferiority complex.

3.54 from WFU itself, 31 S MCAT... no secondary.

3.8-3.9 consistently; on app was 3.88
P12/V13/B13/WS
Post-Int at Duke and UNC. Withdrew post-primary from WF.
UNC is awesome, BTW. If you get Frank Church for your interview talk about music (esp. blues or Louisiana music) and count your lucky stars b/c he's great.

After reading some of the other posts, something makes me think WFU was a crapshoot depending on who read your primary/secondary app and when.

My Stats:
3.7GPA; 32Q; good to excellent experience; excellent letters
Interviewed 11/7; waitlisted shortly after. No desire to followup.

oops, forgot > OOS applicant
