I did.
First test was April 2004 and received a 22. Don't ask. I must have skipped a bubble!!
Second test was August 2004 and I got a 26. Sucked again.

Needless to say, I was waitilisted at 5 schools and did not get in.

This year, August 2005 (skipped April 2005 due to Senior year business) I received a 28Q. At least I went up, but still the score was not what I was wanting.

Accepted to one school so far, and have had 9 interview invites. I find out about 3 schools in March to see if I will make it in or not.

I knew a girl from my school who took it three times....25, 25, and 30 on the third try. She also applied 3 times, and finally got in the last time. I think some schools are really impressed by the perseverence it takes to go through that awful exam and the application process so many times. Still, it seems unfortunate that you even have to jump through those hoops in the first place (ie she was probably qualified to begin with, they just wanted to see a higher MCAT score)

thanks guys, that reassuring for me....

anyone else??? please share your stories, it feels good to know that i have a chance at getting accepted to med school even though i have to take this damn mcat THREE times...

oh and, for those of you that did, how did you improve your scores??
i only increased by 1 point between the 1st and 2nd tests...which was my fault, i know i am capable of doing better.

any advice...

i took that piece 3 times!!! it was very painful...

first time, i took it was back in august 2004... i got a 19....

then i took it in april 2005... i got a 27....

my practice exams were scoring anywhere between 29 and 33.

i studied like a bastard again and retook the exam in august 2005. got a 27 again!

and i'm currently a senior in college... after taking that crap 3 times in a row... and am applying right now...

i didn't apply to any osteopathic or carribean schools... and already, i've been getting mad love from schools for interviews and not to mention an acceptance into a top notch school that is NOT my state school!

that's why everyone calls me the underdog. also because i'm not a URM and i'm not disadvantaged. in fact, i'm asian.

EDIT: i got numerous interviews, 6 interview pools currently, 4 rejections... and i applied to more than 20+ schools...

this past august was my third time time taking the mcats... and i FINALLY got into medical school... even better, it was my number 1 med school (but i also took postbacc classes)... so there's hope!

...gluck! 🙂
