I got an email from Hawaii yesterday asking me for course descriptions of some of my prereqs, and it ended with "our decision is pending upon this information" or something like that. I'm assuming it's because I don't have Cell Bio.

Did anyone get an email like this? I'm hoping they wouldn't go to the trouble to email me and analyze my science courses if they didn't plan on inviting me for an interview.

Have any out-of-state people received invites from them yet?

After the secondary they sent me the class records form. I called them and they said that since I didn't go to UH they would also want course descriptions, so I sent it all together to avoid delays. I've had the cell-bio class but not the cell-bio lab. I have research experience though and one co-authorship, so I think that got me out of the requirement. I did interview there in November. I'm technically out of state, but I went to high school there and my dad lives there, so it is not entirely out of state. I have not heard anything yet. They have an equation that looks at your residency, MCAT, GPA, and how you did in the last two years of undergrad. If you get above a 14 (please don't ask more details, I don't know them) then you are given an interview. So, they might not do the calcs until they have the paperwork. You can always call and ask if they have done the calcs and what your chances may be.
