I am a out of state applicant. I guess I wasn't competitive enough to get the secondary from them...
I'm in state and I haven't heard from them, but I only submitted my application on 10/10. You should hear from them either way; they shouldn't just leave you dangling.
I think it was like five weeks in between submitted my AMCAS and receiving the secondary, so I wouldn't worry if you just submitted your application... and I think they would let you know either way, not just letting you wonder forever if you were getting a secondary.
elle, did you hear from them about interviewing? and are you in-state? i'm waiting for their response nervously...
I interviewed a few weeks ago. I am in-state. Don't worry about not getting a letter yet -- I think the reason why I got an interview early is that I had sent in my secondary pretty early and was probably in the first batch of files they reviewed. Just a hunch, of course. The interview day was interesting and not stressful, and I would be more than happy to answer any questions.
Hope this helps!
Elle, I submitted my secondary on 8-10. What is taking them so long?
I submitted my primary 7/5/01, so I was just getting frustrated. All other schools, w/exception of some UC schools have sent me secondaries. I called their office, but the receptionist was pretty rude about me asking why it is that I still don't have secondary.
Oh well. Thanks for your replies.
I wish I knew! Other people I know applying to Maryland haven't been contacted yet either... they seemed pretty swamped with the AMCAS mess. But I hope you hear from them soon.
