Anyone else taking an epidemiology class for MPH?

I am taking my epidemiology class and would to form a study group. I am currently working on relative risk, odds ratio and attributable risk calculations. Next up in my studies will be genetic and environmental factors. ie: types of associations, types of causal relationships, bias, and identifying the roles of genetic/env factors in disease. My textbook is "Epidemiology" Gordis, L., 2004. 3rd Edition.

Are you sure it's Risk Assessment? Risk Assessment is a tool that is utilized in Environmental Health that is not an epidemiologic concept. Are you sure you're not calculating relative risk or risk ratios?

I used that book last year in an EPI class I took. As an undergrad, majoring in "public health science" we take two epi classes, and a stats class.

I am taking it this summer, so I can't really help you out, but how difficult are you finding it? I have taken several statistics class before, but do I need to really know my statistics and math.

Stat's is all over epi. You have to recall a lot of concepts and try to utilize it in a practical standpoint. I just took my biostat class before this one and thank goodness! Let me know if I can help!
