Damn, some of those people can be vicious. I'm afraid to read any of the threads b/c they start out nice and then it ends up with people degrading each other b/c x is better than y.
Enough to make you not want to be associated with the network.

Definitely stay out of The Lounge, then. It's a jungle in there. I was once called a "raving psychotic b1tch of a feminazi" :D I try not to stray out of the pharm forum anymore. It's usually more civillized in here.

It's always interesting to see PRE-meds being arrogant (if that's what you're referring to). ;)

Oh and my other "favorite" is the argument of MD versus DO.

The lounge is usually pretty chill. Stay out of "pre-allo" and "Everyone" if you want to live. :)

The lounge isn't chill anymore ever since the karma system was introduced. If you go in there, you might as well disable your karma bc you'll come back to us wounded. It's like one big high school popularity contest. If you're not part of a "clique" then anything you say will earn you negative karma. You have to do a lot of brown-nosing to keep you karma in good standing. I personally don't like having my nose that far up anyone's ***. :D

...or beg for Karma in one of the endless threads like 'Broken Antenna" from a supermod ;)

Karma doesn't mean cr*p if people are gonna earn it that way!

    :p

the pharmacy forum has a much less competitive feeling about it... instead of trying to outcompete each other, people here are really nice and seem to genuinely try to help other people :)

In my work experience with many, many MDs (or DOs - I don't know, which is better, which is worse  ) I can't say I'm one bit surprised

Well, karma in the form it is right now probably isn't going to exist much longer.

I think we're a pretty lively bunch in the EM (Emergency Medicine) forum - everyone is welcome, and we're pretty eclectic.

Pre-allo is from Hell. Take that at face value and enter at your own risk.
