Anyone ever go to orgo drunk?

While I didn't go to orgo drunk, my first semester prof did take shots during class. Ostensibly, he was doing a breathalyzer and showing a solution changing color with the introduction of ethanol from his breath. In reality, I think he just likes taking several shots at 8 in the morning.

I think the fact that ORGO is usually one of the earliest classes ever (mine was at 9:30, but a friend of mine had it at 7AM!) deters most from drinking before or during class. But, that doesn't exclude physics and gen chem from the mix...woohaa.

Maybe not orgo...but definitely physics! My roommates and I used to begin the weekend festivites on Friday afternoons, and I had it at 4:30. I was always bummed to go to class, so I used to get the "special" nalgene with one of their concoctions to make it a little less painful. Only on a few occasions, though. Nobody's perfect. 🙂

He ended up booting in the trashcan at the front of the lecture hall next to the professor lecturing in front of about 400 students. You can imagine the look on the professor's face. Not exactly the most dedicated premed ever. He got weeded out, by the way. Bet that's a shocker

Alcohol doesn't make everything better... Alcohol + something really nerdy (ie orgo) doesn't make organic cool, it just makes the drunk person that much lamer.

yes, but you and Indy are forgetting Rule #1 About Being in College: drinking is cool--no matter when, no matter where, no matter why. it's an unwritten law if ever there was one. it doesn't matter if you're at a party or a funeral, saying "man, i just pounded 27 jagerbombs, dude...i'm so wasted" automatically makes you the coolest person in town.

my organic class was at 9AM. if you drink before that (on a weekday, no less), please don't reproduce. thank you.

Hmm . . . I'm having trouble deciding who's right between Peterock and Superdevil. Indeed, drinking is does make you the coolest person, no matter what the situation. But at the same time it is kind of lame in retrospect, ESPECIALLY in nerdy situations as Peterock pointed out. Both are correct but I'm not sure who wins out here. 🙁

Not necessarily. You could have gotten so drunk from the night before that you are still drunk when you came to class. I was gonna do that for halloween once but seeing that I was the TA I didn't think it would be a good idea.

I never went to orgo drunk, but I went to an astronomy class totally plastered, went to the bar before my Calc final (I had seven hours between exams, what else was I gonna do?), and drank during my Bio 2 final (the class was curved and I only needed a 40 to get an A, so I thought that a 40 in a paper bad would do).

some friends and I took a flask of peppermint schnapps to microbiology lecture. there was this massive blizzard and we were just waiting for the rest of classes to get canceled (and they did, right AFTER microbiology). anyway, most of the class didn't show and we all got a good chuckle passing the flask around. kept us warm and makes for a good story.

I took orgo freshman year, and it was a monday - wednesday - friday course. Almost every Friday, I came hung over. A few times I was still drunk, since the class was at 10 AM and the bars close 4ish.

But that was ok, since the Prof was really nice and gave like 90% of the kids some sort of an A

I had jobs all throughout school and worked very hard, but dicked around when I could afford to, which is a good thing. In fact, having fun is beneficial to your school work in my opinion because you are in a better state of mind to think and learn.

I wouldnt sit next to someone without the sense of humor to be amused by a drunk coming to class anyway.

Without the ability to let loose and get really wasted some of the time, I would never had been able to get good grades. Destressers are important . Now that I am in the working world I don't get drunk anymore, because it would be unproffesional, but it was ok in college.
