Anyone find summer classes to be too fast?

I'm taking a class at Indiana University. I've never taken a science course at
a college level. I was interested in pharmaceutical art direction. (anti-depressant advertising etc.) The class is biology L111 and it seems like I'm getting a flood of information and no real time to study. Although I recieved an average score, I found the test to be quite challenging. (maybe because this course is designed for pre-meds and I'm not a premed)?

any insight?

Is this course easier during the year with gaps between classes?

I've only been on a quarter system (10 weeks + finals week) so I'm use to the fast pace (even summer where it's 5 weeks for quarter system). Summer sessions definately pack in a lot more info in a shorter amount of time.

I've never had a summer off. I have 12 credit hours this Summer. But they're in Germany, and I'm studying German, so I think it's a little different.

I think it will be difficult for you because you have yet to master the art of filtering out the BS. It's an acquired skill that comes with experience. Do as best you can, but why the rush to get in a college class? I graduated early and only took one 4-unit course during one summer...

but then again in summer...you dont really take a full load...
so the "fastness" of summer school is not as bad as studying for 4-5 classes during the semester/quarter.

I've taken several summer classes, this summer in the 1st session physics I and bio I, and the second physics II and chem II. They have a daily lecture an hour and 20 minute long, as well as 2 labs a week for both, and one has a discussion section 2 times a week. They are all 6 weeks in length.

I LOVE summer classes compared to the fall and spring. Why? I don't like having 50 minutes of a lecture, the leaving off in the middle of something only to come back to it several days later. Somehow, because I see a light at the end of the tunnel and it's close, I do much better and learn more... the final is so close to the start that everything is much more fresh in my mind, as opposed to the 13 weeks I have to forget it all. I also like college because if I hate a class, I only have to deal with it for a semester instead of the entire year like in high school.
