Is it just me or has Tulane rejected tons of people really early. I remember that Tulane was the 1st application I completed and was my first rejection. In fact, I was placed on hold for interview. After learning this I wrote a letter to Tulane telling them that I was still very interested in their school. About a week later I got the rejection letter. Do you think that the school interprated this letter as being inappropriate or harrassment, and as such summarily rejected me? Also, do you think that if someone calls a school to frequently, ie. every week, then the staff in the admissions office have the power to reject that person automatically? If so, let us all be warned! Do any of you agree with this, or have any actual experience of being rejected for what you feel may have been aggressive/proactive approachto finding out your application's status. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

sounds pretty harsh to me. what i'd like to think happened is that they put your file into the hold for interview after reviewing just your stats, then got your letter, decided to give your application a thorough check after receving the letter, then sent the appropriate decision.

i hope they don't get pissed at calls or letters. if so, it reflects poorly on their admission methods. keep your head up though, i think your letter just sped up the process and hopefully better things are in store.

Tulane was one of the first schools to institute alternative procedures for getting around the AMCAS mess. It makes sense that they would have rejected more people than other schools have, just because they got started earlier.

I've heard nothing from Tulane. Don't know if that's a good thing. I did submit my AMCAS app very early. Maybe I'm in the "VISIT LATER" pile...

I havent' heard anything either from Tulane. Maybe I am on the "if we don't send him anything perhaps he won't try to contact us" list. Who knows.....

Tulane was my first interview (scheduled for Sept. 13th, changed to sept 27 or so). I received official notice that I was accepted on Oct. 15th.

Why did I get an interview? I can only assume that it's because I mentioned in my secondary how both of my parents went to college in Louisiana, and absolutely loved it there.

My father works at Tulane, he and my brother are both alumni, and I go to the doctor there - which I also mentioned on my secondary, and still have heard nothing. I'm an August MCATer, so maybe that's the difference.

congrats UCLA2000.....will you be attending Tulane or are you still waiting on a few more schools?

Tulane is a great school, and I'd be happy to attend there. However, I'm still waiting to see how everything plays out...

Hey UCLA 2000 - I sent you a private message.
