Has anyone received their mid-season post-interview BU status letter yet, which the committee was supposed to have decided about on Dec. 21?

I just got an email a while back. No letter yet.

i think their website says around january 13th they will come.

The letters will be sent out on January 10th, according to my friend that currently goes there. Your interviewer may choose to email you, on that date or later, if you are accepted.

I got a rejection email...so i know that they are taking some action.

good luck to the rest of you

Already? Were you post-interview? Did the admissions office email you, or your interviewer? =/

That sucks. When did you interview?

They send you a text message to your cell phone.

I thought it was supposed to be a singing telegram.

I thought BU said snail mail.

Someone posted above, that you're interviewer may email you, if they want.

Anyone else feeling anxious???

very anxious about this one. anybody consider this school their top choice?

The snail mail letters go out on the 10th; interviewers may email you if they wish. I'm just hoping for some finality; I think the worst thing would be getting deferred. I can't wait another 2 months!

I would think you'd rather be deferred than rejected 🙂

Keep in mind that the majority of their interviewees get their decision deferred until March.

anybody's interviewers email them today?

True, but I'd rather get accepted than deferred. 🙂

Incidentally, looking at the acceptance action from previous years, it looks like interviewers didn't start emailing/calling until a few days after the snail mail letters were sent out. The official date on the website for notifications is 1/13, so we might have to wait till then. 🙁

Just got my email- says I am deferred until march. Anyone else get anything?
By the way- the email was from admissions, not my interviewer.

I just got the same thing. I remember the dean saying that they reject a lot of people post-interview and only defer those that actually have a chance at getting an acceptance. So, getting deffered is not that bad.

In our written correspondance, do you think it has to be hand-written or can it be typed?

I just got deferred today, I wonder out of the people that have interviewed how many get deferred. I emailed them an update in mid-december including an unofficial transcript and they said that was fine for stuff like this. I definetly am going to send an email out right away saying I'm still interested, if they need something in paper form I will send that out after the email.

it can be typed. i think it just can't be emailed.

Thats what I figured, who communicates with pen and paper anyways

Those who got the hold email, when did you interview.

I interviewed early october i think...

In the previous email that was sent out in January, it said that only a small number of interviewees were accepted/rejected, so I'm assuming a lot of people got the deferred status. 😴

I just sent in an email update right after I received their email today, I guess I'll find out if it needs to be more formal than that.

:luck: to everyone!

I interviewed Oct 21 and also got the wonderful hold email. Did anyone get anything different????? Back to waiting.... 🙁

oh man this is making me nervous

anyone rejected or did they put us all on hold?

yeah now i'm really nervous. i think i interviewed 11/2 as well, any acceptances yet?

I received a BU acceptance today. It was a large envelope and post marked on 1/10.

I did not receive an e-mail post-interview status from BU today like so many others have. Anyone else in the same position? If so, when did you interview?

i have not received the letter yet, but my interviewer just told me congratulations!!!! wow 3rd acceptance ..can't believe it considering my low MCAT! God is great indeed.

Congrats! Did he call you or email you the good news? I did not get an email today and I interviewed on 11/28. What do you think that means?

Has anyone besides me not received a post interview status email from BU today? I'm wondering what's up?

When did you interview?

I interviewed on 10/31, and I'm pretty average as far as stats go so I wasn't too surprised to be deferred, but I still think I have a good shot at getting in, they accept like 500 to fill the class. I would also bet that this initial deferment thing is to get people that are going to some of the top ten med schools out of the way so that they can have a more realistic picture of who wants to be at BU and who doesn't. So I'm not too down in the dumps about it just yet.

Well I know I am going to withdraw myself soon from BU.

interviewed Dec.5th. just received an email of acceptance from my interviewer!

aaah i can't wait any longer! did any of you interview with dr. broitman? i wonder if he sends out emails.

i had dr. medzon. i'm gettin really nervous. dr. broitman is awesome. one of the nicest and most nurturing profs. at BUSM

I just got the acceptance email from my interviewer!! WOOOHOOOO!!! I wish all of you waiting great luck!! :luck:
