Im just curious as to how the process works and what the circumstances were for your transfer to occur? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This has been discussed many, many times here. Do a search..you'll find a lot of posts about it.

i transferred, and i don't recommend it for anyone, unless it's an absolutely necessary where not transferring means that there will be some severe issues over the next 2 years.

why do i say this... even if your are in the bottom rung school and want a leg up, transferring is a miserable experience that is not worth it unless are used to moving around alot from city to city and this is your lifestyle.

for example, you may not think you like the people in your current class for example, but you don't even know how bad it gets when you're the new guy in a new place, and you've lost the people you can count on as friends where you share you secrets about doing well in med school, having companionship, etc.

when you enter the 3rd year, you're basically on the bottom of the totem pole in the hospital, it is worse when you are a transfer student, because now you are the stranger who has alot of adaptations to make - it's not like someone who took a year off from med school, returns to a new class, but is still familiar with their surroundings and knows alot of people.

it seems that students are less like to buddy up to transfer students, this makes a huge difference even if you consider yourself a shut-in.

the stress of transferring could translate to lesser performance [especially important for year 3] and a less healthy experience.

although i didn't see all transfer students struggling, the majority of them did. it's easier to talk about and apply for than to actually experience, so beware - even if you're at school ranked numer 110.
