i go to ross univeristy (a caribbean med school) and the head of our biochem department is actually the author of that book. they claim that a good chunk of US med schools use it. just wanted to know if this is true.... 😕

Our required books were Baynes Medical Biochemistry and Graw et. al Clinical Biochemistry w/ about 3 other recommended, none of which were by Meisenberg.

Sounds like someone is trying to make a little supplemental income...its not that uncommon (our head of anatomy made a lab manual w/ illustrations that we are all required to buy).

We use it too. It's pretty good.

Our Biochemistry class uses Meisenberg, which is a horrid book with skimpily applied details. If you want to review general concepts, it's a decent overview, but if you want to learn Biochem, get a good book.

Lehninger is probably the most used Biochem text in professional schools, while I personally favor Voet and Voet, which has some pretty great illustrations, imho.

Sorry I don't. I have mostly used Stryer in the past.
