I scheduled an interview at CU last week and I really had a good experience. Anyone else interview there or look into CU for D-school?

Veneto said:I read from another thread that Creighton doesnt do invites for interviews. How true is this? I applied there and filled out a secondary but havent heard a thing back yet. Should I call and schedule an interview, or is it too late to do that, or do they really schedule their own? I would have a hard time entering a dental school that I hadnt even seen the facilities.
quakinator said:You are right, Creighton doesn't send out invites for interviews. I have also been told that they will let anyone come "interview" with them but you have to be the one to initiate and schedule the interview. If anyone has been turned down for an interview after they have called I would be interested in knowing. I am going to try to schedule my Creighton interview around one of my other interviews in that area. I agree that I want to see the facilities before I commit my $200k to a school.
weiy01 said:i acutally called admissions not too long ago to check on the status of my ap. It's complete, but then I also asked if we would be hearing anything about interviews. They lady said "We dont do interviews." We'll hear from them in the beginning of Decemeber. Until then, we have to wait patiently *sighs*
boogaking said:Just to double u what I just read up above.... We call them to schedule an interview?? At what point would we do this... before or after we send in the secondaries???
yeahbuddy said:back to your question billiken10, my stats are 18AA/19PAT, GPA 3.95, south dakota resident.
A big advantage that Creighton has is that they don't have any specialist programs there, so as a dental student you will be able to handle every case that comes into the clinic, nothing is sent away to the specialty students.
Omahahahaha said:Yeahbuddy,
Where are you at for undergrad? I'm also from SD.
Veneto said:Omahahahahahahaha,
Thanks for the information. I guess I should ask what it's like living in Omaha. Coming from AZ I am betting the temp. change would be drastic. How big is Omaha again?
yeahbuddy said:I'm from Watertown,Sd and i go to Minnesota state university moorhead.
boogaking said:How's the cost of living really like in Omaha???
Omahahahaha said:Sweet! I'm from Webster, that's just 50 miles down the road.
yeahbuddy said:Crazy, I didn't think there were anyother South Dakota people out there. are you a 2000 graduate from Webster?
boogaking said:I was wondering if anyone else is going out to Creighton U. on the Oct 1??? If so could you PM me.... If any students there have insights.... or place to possibly rent... for a couple of days... PM as well... thanks.
boogaking said:can someone tell me the correct way to pronounce Creighton... is it 'crayton' or 'cryton' ???? Thanks in advance!
wimmcs said:I have a question about Creighton.
I applied there and received a secondary. I was concerned when the secondary contains places where one can write who you know that graduated from there. I don't know anybody from there and I wonder if this hurts my chances to get accepted. Please let me know your feedback or your thoughts. Thanks!
quakinator said:I am very interested in Creighton as well, they have a contractual agreement with Utah called the RDEP program, similar to WICHE.
ItsGavinC said:Good luck spending the first year of the RDEP program in that hell-hole they call "facilities" at the U of U. Absolutely ridiculous.
Creighton itself is a sweet school!

wimmcs said:I got a booklet from Creighton a couple of months and I read where the student is responsible for finding their own patients. I did not find this feature appealing from this school, as there are many other worries d-students have to confront.
Veneto said:What is the attire for these "interviews"? Should I go for the full blown interview suit or should slacks, shirt, and tie suffice?
