I'll be interviewing at CCOM on January 17 and I just thought I'd check to see if anyone else would be interviewing the same day. I've read through the interview feedback, but if anyone has any advice of comments to make about their CCOM interview experience, I would greatly appreciate it! 🙂

I have an interview scheduled for 1/17, but I am not sure I will go. I was accepted at KCOM and KCUMB, and I really liked them....what do you think? Do you know much about CCOM's curriculum?

Well, congrats on your acceptances first of all! CCOM has a pretty traditional curriculum from what I've seen. First two years are mostly classroom/lecture based mixed with pretty decent amounts of OMM. They seem to have some clinical prep courses in there, but not much in the way of preceptorships in the years 1 & 2. The 3rd and 4th years of course are rotations. CCOM has a good reputation for residency matches and a prestigious name, but it's also way expensive. KCOM and KCUMB are great schools too, but CCOM's deposits are really low if accepted, so you wouldn't be out too much if you decided not to go there after the fact. Congrats again!

Congrats on your interview! I interviwed there in October, and will be attending next fall. I can just let you know a little bit of what the day was like, so you have an idea ahead of time.

Everyone gathered in a conference room and we had a bit of an introduction to CCOM, and we all introduced ourselves, the usual stuff. Then half of the group started on the interviews, while the other half went to listen about financial aid and went on a tour. Then the groups switched off. So be prepared to possibly interview early morning, like 8:30-9:30. Personally, I preferred the later group of interviews b/c you have a chance to do the tour first, and possibly get ideas of what to mention during the interview. But don't worry if you aren't the later group, just be prepared coming in and make sure you know all about CCOM before going in, just in case. Then after the interviews both groups got lunch in the cafeteria and talked to some students.

Good luck on your interview! I hope you like the school, I absolutely loved it! Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, you can PM if you like.

Thanks, that does help a bit! How are their interviews? I've checked the feedbacks for types of questions they ask, but is it more of a get to know you feel or a weed you out feel? I would just like to prepare myself accordingly! 🙂

Hello...
Don't sweat your interview. I interviewed at CCOM and it was a pretty friendly, laid-back atmosphere. My interviewers definitely wanted to get to know me and asked a lot of questions about previous jobs, classes, and life experiences. There were no 'good cop, bad cop' tactics. No super-tough interrogation questions. Just find a few things on your resume that you're really passionate about, and talk them up. Good luck!
