Hi,

I was just wondering what people have to say about the Children's Hospital of University at Buffalo and how it compares to some of the other programs in NY (Schniders, Rochester..etc...). Any input would be greatly appreciated.🙄

In general, this program is an underachiever. It has an odd mixture of talented senior faculty, intelligent/eager residents, and individuals who simply don't care. The people in this latter category may outnumber the people in the first two. As a result, the Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo, while decent, is not an ideal learning environment. Bottom line, I would look elsewhere both regionally (Pitt, Rochester, Rainbow Babies) and nationally in my search.

Best of Luck,
UB Med Student

This has little value, but I just want to point out the "Women's and Children's Hospital of Buffalo" - FOREVER, it was "CHOB" - Children's Hospital of Buffalo, Bryant Street. When Buffalo General, Millard Fillmore Hospital, and CHOB linked up 8 or 9 years ago, they tried to consolidate services, so city ob/gyn went to Children's, and suburban TO Suburban (Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital).

The "Women's and..." was added only last year, and I think a part of it, while ostensibly for the reason above, was to subconsciously try to cash in on the "Women's" part of the "Brigham and Women's Hospital", even though there is ABSOLUTELY no connection.

Like I say, little value.
