I am at a medical school library today and not even the librarians know how to find a list of the most credible cardiology journals. If you know the names of a few or have a link to a list I would be very grateful. Thank you very much.

I'm no cardiologist but the 2005 Journal Citation Report ranks the top 5 by impact factor:

    Circulation
    Circulation Research
    J. American College Cardiology
    European Heart Journal
    Cardiovascular Research

    Hope that helps.

Er, no, I don't have a link really. I get access to it under a campus-wide subscription to various ISI web products. Most major medical centers will have it under their e-resources if you search for "citation report"...

JAMA has papers on all kinds of areas of medicine. You can choose what sort of email update for what areas you want. I get cardiac papers, for example, so you can sign up to do the same through JAMA.

This list is right on. Circulation is the cardiology equivalent of Nature and Science. There are also high quality cardiology articles in Journal of Applied Physiology and the American Journal of Physiology.

Aside from the ones already mentioned, J Mol Cell Cardiol, Heart, J Thorac Cardiov Sur, Am J Physiol-Heart & Circ Phys are good ones.

The big four medical journals (JAMA, Lancet, BMJ, NEJM) will all have cardiology articles

Nature Clinical Practice: Cardiovascular Medicine has some interesting articles as well

Circulation and JACC are definitely the major journals in this field
