Anyone need a roommate or know of someone who needs a roommate in NYC area ( preferably queens , jersey or manhattan)? Contact me on SDN , facebook or email me at [email protected]. I'm on a tight budget and can only afford about 450-500.00$/ mo. for rent. Thanks

To help you out with the housing issue:

A one bedroom apartment in a decent area of Manhattan runs AT LEAST $2,000/month - maybe a few hundred lower in less desirable areas.

In Brooklyn, where I reside, rents vary quite drastically according to proximity to Manhattan. If you plan on residing close to NYC (i.e. Prospect Heights, Williamsburg, Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, Kensington) plan on paying AT LEAST $1400/month for a one bedroom. If you venture further out (i.e. Marine Park, Sheepshead Bay, ****r Heights) you'll get a better deal - around $1,000/month for a one bedroom.

Unsure about New Jersey - but consider commuting costs into NYC & Bklyn, which is not cheap!

Also unsure about Queens - I do hear though that rent variations are similar to Brooklyn (the closer to NYC, the higher the rent.)

Good luck with your search!
