Anyone receive a weird email w/ subject "Re: Application" and zip file attachment "your_details"? There's no sender info & I can't seem to open the file after downloading.

Just wondering if maybe it's another amcas goof-up.

probably a virus. scan your email with a virus scanner anytime you get attachments.

I did scan it & it was fine. Also, the account I have filters out spam & I only use it for med school app.

honestly, i still wouldn't rule out the possibility of a virus. it sounds like a very fishy email. not really sure what you can do, but just a heads-up.

It's a virus for sure. Just because it says .zip, doesn't mean it is a zip file. Reveal your extensions, and update your antivirus software while you're at it.

Thanks, guys! Glad to hear that it deactivated yesterday.

I received the exact same thing a few weeks ago and it was from the University of Minnesota. I unzipped it and ran a "details.pif" file and nothing happened. Then, after I rebooted, my computer was really slow. I ran a virus scan which detected and removed the virus. I would just delete the email.
