I know this thread should be placed in the Financial Aid forum - sorry.

I also wanted to share my good news with everyone: I received my first medical school scholarship! Too bad I spent it already - I was given a check for $25!!! Okay so I only need $43,575 more now. Please, no COD or personal check, just PM me and I'll tell you where you can mail your good-will-help-a-SDN-er-out donation in the form of a money order.

I just received my aid package. Loans, loans and more loans. Not a single grant! 🙁 What's it take to get free money these days?!?

Scholarships haven't been awarded yet, so there is still hope (not much, though).

Now I'm scared - all loans people?? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

I got one from Tufts a few weeks ago. Not one single penny of free money! They expected me to borrow almost $58,000 for my first year! What a load of crap!

If he had said, "we have no money," then perhaps I would have expected this. But I interpreted his comments to mean that an offer from Tufts wouldn't be quite as good as other schools' offers, in part because of their higher tuition. But for them to have accepted me very early (in December!), which I assume means they really wanted me to attend their school, and then not offer me ANY free money seems rediculous. 😡 Ah, it feels good to vent... 🙂

all loans... not one penny of grant. 😡 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

So, did anybody get any good fin aid offers from schools yet? if so, which school was it from?
