Anyone subscribe to JournalWatch?

I was kinda intrigued by the solicitation I got in the mail re: JournalWatch, in that it publishes 8 pages of summaries of key articles from 40+ journals. Sounds like a great way to stay on top of things w/ a shorter time investment. Anyone subscribe to this journal/service? Any opinions? Good/bad? Worth the $$?

i've been a subscriber for about a year. if you only read the bimonthly mailed summaries, it's not worth the money. if you have internet, then you can review all the articles from multiple fields daily. it takes about 15 min a day. a lot of the stuff is arcane and probably not relevant to your daily practice, but it does allow you to be "first on the block" to hear about a new study. I don't think it is cost effective for residents. it would be better to buy an up to date textbook. after you're an attending, with lots of extra cash, you can splurge on this service.

The resident cost is $69. I think it's worth it. In addition to the EM monthly and all the other e-mails, i can also get access to, I think, 3 other PDF full editions on-line at no extra cost (my wife is a pediatrician, so we get the peds one, i also get cardio and stroke). You also get on-line access to the other specialties (not the print type editions like above).

For 69 bucks, it's totally worth it.

I've had it for several years and have found it pretty useful. Good way to keep up with what's new.

I also like Keeping Up. They're weekly podcasts and I've found them to be useful and to cover many different areas. It links to the full text of each article. You can also get CME credit without too much expense.

you can get the PDF's by going to the PDF archive to see what the past print editions look like.
