I know of 1 kid with an 18 who got into nycom last year, his gpa was high however

Yea it is, I hope he had some great ECs or was phenomenal in some other area to make up for the score.

I ve heard of people with scores in the high teens getting into carribean schools, but even that is not the norm. The big 3 carribean schools have mcat scores around 23-24. I know your probably more interested in DO schools considering your posting on the pre-osteo board, but i thought i would just throw that piece of info out.

Wouldn't a fair number of people with scores <= 20 have to get into schools that have averages of 22 - 23 to balance those who get in with near-30 scores?

Yeah, that is what averages are....just averages, I know of someone who is a MS IV at LECOM who got in with a 20, not sure about the GPA.

This sounds about right.

I know people at my school who have gotten in with a range of 21-32. (This is from a limited sample size.) Our MCAT average is about 26-27.

I know I stated the obvious, but I was just indicating that it shouldn't be a surprise that people with 18 and 19 MCATs attend schools with averages of 22 or 23.
