I am a 4th year caribbean med student who will be applying for medicine and am trying to add to my GPA and board scores. I have opportunities to do research either within medicine (ie AIDS and Infectious disease) or possibly doing some psych research at stanford. From my perspective, the psych is extremely intriguing since I have a general interest in understanding people from a pschological/psychiatric perspective and since I will most likely have to invest myself in medical research during residency (esp since I will most likely apply for a fellowship). Would doing a research project in psych make me less competitive than doing research in medicine given my pending applications and plans to match in 2007? Thanks
