Applying for PHD in the same cycle of MD-PHD?

Hello Everyone, Out of curiosity, has anyone applied to MD-PHD/MD, and then later during the cycle when the PHD app is due (Nov-Dec), applied to PHD as well? Would the med schools know that you apply to PHD and MD/PHD at the same time and does it look bad on the applications?

Yes. It is ok. A plan B (or C if MD included), going to graduate school is not a bad alternative.
