Applying for undergrad as transfer student

I'm currently going to a CA community college and I'm planning to transfer to a CA university soon. My top 2 choices for undergrad would be Stanford and UCLA (obviously these are pretty competitive schools) so I'm going to apply to other UC schools. I have a 4.0 GPA and only about 100 hours of community service at hospitals.

My question is how many universities should I apply to? For those who were/are CC transfer students, how many universities did you apply to (and got accepted)?

I got in 5UCs and I didn't do any community service. I didn't try any private or out-state univ. so I can save some on the tuition.
