So I am awaiting decisions from a couple SMP/post bacc programs and I hoping I will get into at least one of them. I want to apply to medical school but am unsure whether to start now or wait after. As of now I have a sGPA of 3.15 and a cGPA of 3.24. I will be taking the MCATs in about a month.

I know with these stats MD schools are out of question. But I anticipate to get my **** together during the post-bac.

Has anyone else applied like this? Would I update my AMCAS with first-semester grades? Will a decent MCAT score and a semester of the post-bacc be enough to get me in?

I would wait until you have the whole year of grades. Do the grade projection but I bet one semester doesn't change your cGPA by more than 0.1.

In which case, you need the whole year to prove you can work your butt off for more than just 1 semester
