Applying to Stony Brook as an out of stater?

    Since the class size is so small, and only a couple of students are from out of state, will I need a 3.9 and a 22+ DAT to have a shot at getting in? Thanks!

    PS - I'm not from New England. :)

    I hope not. I applied and I'm from CA. My GPA is about 3.7 and I haven't taken the DAT yet.

    i have a friend who got into stony brook with 3.4o 3.2sci gpa and 22 aa. hes from california.

    edit: but he chose another school.

    I think there are 2 or 3 out of staters in the 2012 class so far.

    Stonybook as well as Buffalo should give preference to NY residents (Buffalo's ratio seems almost 50/50 even though its a SUNY school), since both are SUNY schools. You don't see too many New Yorker's applying to state schools in the south, texas, or california do you?
