If you have an interview in April, can you still get in without being placed on the waitlist? Rush and Finch particularly are interviewing thru June this year, so if you get an interview at either school, do you have a good shot of getting in post-interview?

good question, because i think the answer is yes.

why? well, they are definately waitlisting this late in the year. so at most schools, probably interviews at this point are for the honour of being put on the waitlist. BUT they will start moving after May 15, so by April or June if you get an interview and did well, they might put you on the waitlist, but take you off the very next day without you ever knowing you were on the waitlist. OR they might jus not bother with the list, and just accept you without playing around with the list (assuming you're the most competitive of the ones still being accepted off the list)

I'd say there is still a good chance of getting accepted. I have a friend who interviewed at USC in April of last year. She got into the school in 4 weeks when they sent out the rest of the acceptances (USC is non-rolling but they do accept some "exceptional" students earlier on). She was told by her interviewer that students who interview near the end are those most likely to end up attending USC. However, you'd really have to look at whether the school is rolling/non rolling and A. Caveman is right...if they are very impressed with you they'll offer you an acceptance without having to worry about a waitlist.
