Hiya kids,
so here's what I am thinking, how about we take a poll of how many people would like to meet for a few hours each week (or twice a week?) for MCAT chat sessions, where different concepts/questions can be asked...where we get to whine, groan (perhaps even moan? <img src="graemlins/wowie.gif" border="0" alt="[Wowie]" /> ) over doom day? NOTE: This is NOT going to be a social gathering, strictly MCAT questions/concerns.

I personally like Friday nights; Sat afternoon-- evenings and sunday evenings after 6:00 p.m. PACIFIC TIME. Now your turn to list your hours!
We shall try to accomodate everybody, so log in and give us our info.

PS: not checked with the administrators, but is it cool if we do this??

PPS: and when you post your hours, please mention whether it's east coast or west coast etc. Also, try to copy/paste the person's info above you (so we are makin this a long thread) so that the person who has to compile all the hours at the end(yours truly) doesn't have to go through each message one by one.

Kapish?

Tweets-
I am game, but friday nights are a no can do. However, Saturdays pretty much anytime (Pacific time) would work. I think this is most effort I've seen yet by any one poster (You) to demolish the MCAT...keep at it!
 Peace

Why that is a phenominal idea (future) dr. bird! Any time on saturday is cool with me. I am in the central time zone.

Hi guys,

I unfortunately can't do Saturdays, but could you guys post the transcript or send it to me? I'd love to read through what everyone says.

Let me know!

Sunday evening would work well for me also. although I have my TPR class for 6 hours on sunday and I might be a lil burnt out

National MCAT study group. hehehe this is pretty funny

i will stop by any time in the afternoon or evening.

I can do Fridays and Saturdays :) . I'm EST, so you 6 pm is going to be my 9 pm? :( . That's when Dark Angel comes on :) ! Anyway, why don't future posters also post what they've studied so we don't all get into chat and ask questions that no one knows cuz we didn't study :) For instance, all I've been doing so far is studying gen. chem, which hopefully will be done this week. Then on to Ochem. I've also got all the AAMC tests and the MCAT Student Manual

Around afternoon on sat and sun, from the east coast. There's has to been some sort of format in the way to do this effectively. B/c there's less than 11 week before the exam.

Ack! 11 weeks?! I'm having heart palpitations. Can anyone do weekdays? How about we have 2 times/week...I during a weekday evening, the other on Saturday afternoon (or another weekend time)?

oooh...we could have a general mcat discussion period and then pick a topic and quiz each other and discuss! This could be fun (yeah, I'm a geek).

Alright,
So concensus says Friday and Saturday nights it is, atleast for this week. IF you feel like these days are bad, we can change the days once we have enough complaints that those days don't work out.

One session planned this week:
THIS FRIDAY, Feb 1st--6 p.m. WEST COAST TIME which is 9 p.m. EAST COAST TIME. (tell me if this works!)

Next Session: following MOnday. Hours to be determined. East coast people, how LATE would you be willing to start our chats, since you guys are 3 hours ahead of us? PLEASE ANSWER!

Lastly, I am taking the initiative and makin a call on what we will discuss this Friday. I would like to start with Gen Chem.
Topics included:
Quantum numbers; Electronic configuration; Periodic Chart Trends; Bonding Types; Molecular Geometry (trigonal planar etc); Chemical Kinetics (rate laws; orders of reaction etc); Thermodynamics (Delta G, H, S, Temp; Ksp products; and Phase changes/Phase equilibria (ice melting to liquid to boilin to gas etc).

Ok, this is A LOT..but, we don't have to do it all in one day. Chat session may last b/w 1-2 hours. STUDY YOUR ASSES OFF! I don't want to sound like a drill sergent but, PLEASE, don't come to the chat session if you don't know simple things like "What's Delta G?" It will just make our time efficient. Thanks!
