Hi guys, I'm currently a senior at UCLA and planning to apply for med school for 09's admission. I have not taken a diagnostic test so i do not know where i stand. My plan is to take the kaplan's class starting next week until 4/3/08 and take the 4/5/08's MCAT. Is it a good idea to start now? Or should I take a diagnostic test and let that score to tell me whether i should self-study or goto prep courses?

YES start now. You can never be overprepared for this test, and the more time you devote to it, the better you will understand the sciences. You can memorize in a short period of time but it often takes awhile to digest the material and to truly understand it. And understanding is necessary to succeed at MCAT.

Go get yourself some second hand Examkracker books and start reading them on the weekends for fun! It's worth it.
