I am sure this topic has been out before. If you could answer how much loans you will be taking and how you plan on paying it off. For example - by going on long term payment plan or working your ass off to pay it all off in like 4 years or so. Thanks!

Working your ass off for four years? Well i want to know what job you have if that happens to you becuase I dont know what job helps you pay 1/4 million in 4 years.
Im not worried and i am, three years out. I get sick everytime i see my loan statement with how much i owe, but in the same token i see Dentists 15-20 years in practice who are living the high life. They had similar debt. We all go through the broke years

No way! Dental school was not nearly as expensive then as it is now. One of my instructors told me that his total dental education cost him 900 bucks😱

Run around to a couple other big private school websites and look at their expected budget. The difference isn't that much. $40k, $50k difference isn't a deal breaker for me...I either need to make more or do without some things, pretty simple. And sure people are worried about it; those who's parents/significant others aren't paying the bills. But you would lose more money reapplying unless you have a strong chance at a state school. There are also many programs out there like the military, etc.

Either he went the military route, had some damn nice scholarships, rich parents, or was 150 years old.

EDIT: to the OP, not really. It's a lot of money, but with a 25 year repayment plan, it's very doable.

if you are worried about finances i suggest you look into the military health professions scholarship program(HPSP) or the national health service corps scholarship. check the military dentist forum....
