Are recent activities important?

I am going to applyto MD schools this coming Spring (Will be a junior) and wanted to know if recent activities are important, namely shadowing.

I shadowed a few MDs during my freshman year summer (60 hours) and wanted to know if this looks bad if I dont have any other recent shadowing since then. Should I shadow other doctors this summer or is the 60 hours i did freshman summer good enough? Will not having any shadowing done since then look bad ( a 2 year span without shadowing)?

It's going to look like you checked a box, I would try and do something. Shadowing is easy and pretty fun, just do an afternoon twice a semester - different specialty each time - it is a minimal time commitment and you may even learn something
