    Hi All,

I have the MSAR 2007. Anyone compared the numbers of 2007 with the one with 2008? Esp MCAT scores for schools on the West Coast? Are there any significant changes? Should I consider ordering a new one?

    THX!

the MSAR 08 will have the latest numbers.
however if you are using MSAR to choose your list of schools, then I think MSAR 07 should be sufficient enough. the numbers do change from year to year but usually you don't see a big jump. with that said, i don't have the latest MSAR.

Your bigger concern should be if requirements for admission (other than grades) have changed. As I've often said, if the MSAR can save you from making one "wrong" secondary, it has more than paid for itself.

Well, I've been having some trouble getting my hands on one. I ordered one from amazon in Feb/March, which they said would ship sometime between April and May. Of course, I just got an email from them saying that they were unable to get the book and were cancelling my order. So, now I've ordered it from the AAMC web site. I haven't gotten it yet, but I suggest that anyone that has an order with amazon or elsewhere reconsider and order from AAMC. I certainly hope to get it before June 5th so I can make sure none of the schools on my list have added calculus as a prereq.

are you a student or near a university? if so i'm sure you can get to a library/career center and look it over for a few hours and check for calc, gpa, biochem etc. while you make a decision

Thought I'd reply to myself. So my MSAR 08 came a month earlier than expected :D (estimate ship date was June 5! yay!)

Boy  test scores jumped for a lot of schools.. For example, UCLA & UCSF went up two full points...+pity+

Now in the position where I would have felt kinda safe if I had applied last year but this year I'm way on the low end. AHHHH!!!! Anyone else in this boat?
