I know every single med school class has class officers. What are the benefits to being class president or another officer of some sort? Will it make you more appear more competitive to residency committees?

Or is it being a class officer more work than what it is worth?

People have to call you Mr.Dr.President.

Well it looks good on your CV...

I didn't want to run because I like to play the sidelines. I also value my study time. Realize that you will have to give up something to do this, most likely it will be your books.

And if our class president is reading this... keep up the good work
