Hello everyone. I'm starting college this fall, so I'm a bit early but I've been researching a lot on Military Dentistry and It seems like a great suit for me. I've been looking around this forum and on the Army (& Navy) website but I'm still unsure if we get to choose where we work. I'm looking to get into Army Dentistry when I start dental school. So basically do you go to dental school and then serve 3 years in the army where you choose or where they choose?

I'm interested in the HPSP scholarship, since that is on active duty, would I have to travel?

Basically, I would really prefer to stay in the U.S.

Please someone explain. Thank you!

I don't want to make this a career, but I am very interested in serving for the minimum 3 years.

Is it possible for a dentist to join the Army National Guard? I think these are state ran so one could stay within the state correct?
