Only artery supplying the thoracic spinal cord.. infarction or surgical mishap = bad news for blood supply to entire thoracic section

stem with cardiac/abdominal surgery. Patient will have a transient period of hypoperfusion and will have anterior spinal artery occlusion symptoms BELOW T8

Thanks for replying. I want to add a few things about it.
"Great radicular artery of Adamkiewicz… provides the major blood supply to the lumbar and sacral cord." When damaged or obstructed, it can result in anterior spinal artery syndrome, with loss of urinary and fecal continence and impaired motor function of the legs; sensory function is often preserved to a degree.

It is important to identify the location of the artery when surgically treating an aortic aneurysm to prevent damage which would result in insufficient blood supply to the spinal cord. In bronchial artery embolization for treatment of massive hemoptysis, one of the most serious complications is inadvertent occlusion of the artery of Adamkiewicz.

T3 to T8 is "Water shed area" and if ASA is severed ABOVE that level , this water shed area will be affected ---------- T9 and below will be spared as ASA at this level gets it's blood delivered to it thru ADAM artery.
