All indicators are that this event is going to be OFF THE HOOK. Science, check. Deals, check. Game-changing pain surgery, check. So much to learn at the podium and the pool. This will be a prime opportunity for new grads and fellows to be baptized into the specialty and drink from the hose of the knowledge by those who have primed the pump for decades. Just remember that "no" means "no," but it's not really a conflict of interest unless you want it to be.

I’ll be there for the warm sand, cheap CMEs and bottomless industry sponsored old fashioneds. But yes this conference is a joke. It’s everything wrong with our field wrapped up into a weekend. Can’t wait to see some “ground breaking research” showing what DRG works for next. 🤣

I'll be there. I was invited to some establishment by some Reps to discuss DRG on Saturday. Some place or restaurant called Eleven? They've reserved some private area/table to talk about it. Not sure, but it's a late event for some reason. Anyone else going to this?

I’m tired of shoes. I want to see some watches! I bet there are some nice ones.
 
No one is wearing a better watch than me, I already scanned wrists. Hublot Big Bang is what I'm wearing. I will say this, people tend to look a bit better in this conference, than say, SIS or ASIPP.

Honest question - what’s in it for the KOLs?

Is it an ego thing?

Again I’m genuinely curious here.

I’ve looked up how much they make on the Sunshine Act website and for most it’s not that high. Tim Deer and the other heavy hitters it’s another story of course.

For me I’d lose money if I missed out on that clinic or procedure day (or multiple days). And that’s not even taking into account travel time, staying overnight in another part of the country etc so the hourly rate is even lower.
 
Based on the Insta/LinkedIn posts, was this a trade show or a medical conference?

I compared the agenda of this meeting to ASRA Pain in Nov in New Orleans, and they’re not comparable…
 
Mostly ego, I’m waiting to see an intracept kol meeting. I would imagine it wouldn’t be as sexy

from the presenters that i know (and it is not many), it is from ego and narcissism. the feeling that they "have made it", and now that they are presenting, they will get incorporated in to the club and will start making oodles of money...
