When I got my rejection letter from University of Utah it was signed by the Associate Dean. The letter contained the usual spiel about how my rejection wasn't a judgment as to my ability to become a physician....blah, blah, blah. But at the end of the letter it says that the dean would be "willing to provide advice to facilitate future applications, if you have not been accepted elsewhere."
Are other schools doing this, and if so, has anyone taken advantage of this? I'm thinking it would be a great way to find out exactly what the school is looking for in an applicant while simultaneously networking with a very influential person.
